KPRC Community Food Bank is run by Kells People’s Resource Centre staff and volunteers. Food is donated by local food producers and retailers and is then distributed in food parcels to members of the Kells community who register their interest.
How does it work?
Members of the community register their interest by dropping in to the Resource Centre or calling 086 7038163 [we just need your contact details and the number of people in your family]. Each person who registers is assigned one or two collection days according to their preference. On the assigned day a text is sent out to recipients to notify them that a food parcel is available to be picked up between 11.30am and 1pm. (Arrangements outside of these hours can be made to accommodate particular needs). Availability and quantity of food available is dependent on donations on the day and contents may vary. There is no cost – food parcels are supplied free to those who have registered with us.
